This is book 6 in the series and I just looked at what book 1 said and I’m totally confused because Blane and Kathleen met in book 1 for the first time then they met in book 6 for the first time. Maybe one of you readers can tell me what happened. Who did it? WTH happened? I still don’t know. At one point I read the part 3 times of where Blane’s client held a knife to Kathleen’s throat then suddenly the client was on the floor with the knife in his side.

Is it about Blane finding his brother, every other chapter goes 17 years into the past? Is it about Blane lusting after a girl 24 when he’s around 37, and he tells himself over and over again that this can’t work, leave her alone? Is it about Blane being the lawyer for mobsters? Is it about Blane’s now grown brother breaking into someone’s house/office with Blane’s blessing and his warning not to get caught? Is it about Blane getting involved in the murder of Kathleen’s neighbor, and his sudden need to protect her, while continuing to lust after her? This book is all over the place. (Oct.I’m not even sure what this book is supposed to be about. China is in a personal relationship by book’s end, but the development of her part in the project, and the revelation of its true reach, set the stage for an unsettling follow-up that will undoubtedly continue the romantic complications as well.

Is his sudden appearance in China’s life suspicious, especially after a Wyndemere employee dies in what might not have been suicide? Is Jackson withholding information about the project’s scope? China must rely on her wits as the danger ratchets up and the question of whom she can trust becomes fluid, though whodunit is easy to guess.

The attraction between Jackson and China is palpable, but soon Snow ( Play to Win) throws in some competition for Jackson: a hunky new neighbor named Clark. Jackson Cooper, China’s boss and possibly the hottest guy in the Silicon Valley tech world, puts her in charge of a top-secret programming project for defense contractor Wyndemere. She’s also the best thing about Snow’s Corrupted Hearts series kickoff, and with assured writing and excitement, romance, and intrigue aplenty, that’s saying something. Beautiful, brilliant China Mack is lousy with social cues, obsessively organized, and a total geek.
